HIGHLIGHT QUOTES

Curiosity can lead you on a path of discovery, trying new experiences, meeting new people, and doing new things. – Kevin: “Curiosity, I believe, is a pretty cool word to keep in mind. Because it can lead you on a path of discovery, of trying new experiences, of meeting new people, of going to new places and doing new things, right? And for me it’s been something that’s worked really well for my career because I have been curious and it’s just opened up doors that, if I were sitting on the sidelines, not playing the game sometimes those doors wouldn’t have even been visible to go through.

We wanna do that for our clients, we wanna do that for our franchise partners, their staff, their clients.”

Franchising allows for paying for mistakes that have already been made – Karen & Kevin: “You don’t have to do that. Yeah. And franchising, you’re really not paying. Yeah. You’re really not paying for the business. You’re paying for the mistakes that you don’t want to make anymore. That’s right. That’s right. We just wanna recover a little bit. For pain and suffering for the brain damage that we’ve inflicted on ourselves.”

Episode 46 – Helping Franchisors Develop Scalable and Bulletproof Systems: Featuring Tami Burdick

In this episode of the Franchise My Business podcast, we are joined by Tami Burdick, a freelance franchise consultant known as “The Diagnosis Detective.” Tami shares the story behind her unique tagline and discusses her book, “Diagnosis Detective: Curing Granulomatous Mastitis.”

As a freelance business consultant, Tammy helps emerging and startup franchise brands navigate the complexities of franchising. She emphasizes the importance of local marketing for franchisees and highlights her expertise in guiding them through the process. Tammy’s combination of marketing and operational skills makes her a valuable asset in the franchising industry. She also emphasizes the significance of integrity in franchising, both from the franchisor’s perspective and in supporting franchisees’ success.

HIGHLIGHT QUOTES

Empowering Partners, Building Success and Eliminating Doubt – Tami: “My goal has always been to never let them for a second, second guess their decision to become a partner to begin with. And I think that’s really gratifying when you know that you’re not owning their business, but you’re helping them dramatically to be successful.”

Balancing Hands-On and Hands-Off Approaches for Success – Tami: “sometimes it’s a good idea to ask a potential franchisee that you’re in communications with, ask them to kind of paint the vision of what they think being a franchise with X, Y, Z concept is going to be like for them. Do they envision themselves being a very hands-on operator? Do they Yeah. See themselves as being more hands off? And I think that’s gonna help a franchise system really kind of identify where. They’re going to be best suited as a potential franchisee because even if you do personality assessments on, yeah, your potential franchise partners, if you get a high-esque personality or a franchise partner, they’re gonna struggle in that local marketing.

They’re gonna struggle making relationships and you know, maybe they’re gonna be a better hands off type of owner.”

Episode 45 – Helping Women Create The Life They Desire: Featuring Mayumi Young with CPA Moms

In this episode of the Franchise My Business podcast, we are joined by Mayumi Young, Founder and CEO of CPA Moms. Today, we talk about buying back your time through franchising and the importance of purpose in business.

Mayumi shares her experience in building the CPA Moms franchise systems and talks about franchising also from the franchisee’s perspective. She highlights time, money, and energy as essential resources and recognizing the challenges of working in the professional environment, especially for women.

HIGHLIGHT QUOTES

Collaboration between franchise owners – Mayumi: “They have the ability to serve clients anywhere in the world. There is no competition, it’s only collaboration, franchise owners are constantly sending leads and clients across to each other. Everyone sort of has each other’s back and we say that you’re independent, but not alone. You know, the reality is, if you go alone you can go fast but if you go together, you’ll go far.”

In entrepreneurship, you always have challenges – Mayumi: “They say it all the time if you don’t have a big enough why, it’s not going to get you over the obstacles that are absolutely on the path. Everyone has them but I think the bigger the game that you play, the bigger the obstacles that you have to overcome. And I completely agree that being an entrepreneur is one of the most challenging ways of growing as a human. Being a parent is probably only the one that’s more challenging than being an entrepreneur, but they’re pretty close because your businesses do become your babies in a way.”
