In this episode of the Franchise My Business podcast, Kevin features Glenn Leingang, the Chief Development Officer of Generator Supercenter. Generators are absolutely necessary for areas where the weather can turn unexpectedly and cut power.

Glenn shares how a hurricane jumpstarted the business idea and the point when they figured that they can thrive as a franchise. Today, Generator Supercenter has 44 open and 92 sold locations. Glenn shares how they partnered with Generac to help with their orientation of new franchisees and the very real way they give both homeowners and franchisees peace of mind.

Caring for people is at the heart of the franchise and Glenn talks about celebrating wins with their team and their upcoming initiatives such as the Generator Supercenter University.

HIGHLIGHT QUOTES

Growing from a national to an international franchise – Glenn: “We have 44 open now, we have 92 sold. And in terms of international, actually, I was just looking on my calendar, next Monday the 30th, we have calls with our attorney and our Canadian attorney that we are interviewing right now and we will be bringing Generator Supercenter to Canada really Q3, Q4 this year and we’re just so stoked about it.”

Care for others is a requirement to franchise Generator Supercenter – Glenn: “I think all those things start with the leadership. Matt and Steve, that’s who they are. And it’s easy to follow and if you don’t care about people, you’re not going to last here alone in our corporate headquarters but also, it’s interesting. One of the things that I try to hear is, before we award, the stories of people caring for people or the potential candidate caring for people before they even got here.”
